Alan McClure learned the chocolatier’s art in France where he lived in 2005. When he returned to the US, McClure created his own company called Patric so he could share his passion for chocolate with the world. The world has taken note: Patric has been lauded by prestigious publications like Gourmet, Food and Wine, The New Yorker and the Los Angeles Times, and in 2008, was one of only five chocolate makers nationwide to be invited to first annual Slow Food showcase in San Francisco.

Patric’s secret? Alan McClure, the company’s founder, is as passionate about sourcing as he is about recipes, making frequent trips abroad to procure the world’s finest cacao beans. He uses only pure cane sugar in his chocolates, and makes his products in small enough batches so that he can personally act as quality control. Patric’s product line includes Mocha OMG, The In-NIB-itable Bar, several different blends of Madagascar Sambirano Valley chocolate, and signature bars in milk and dark chocolate.
